While they were in Nepal helping to build a school, the locals found out about their engagement. Then, unexpectedly, they had their Hindu ceremony. 

Keough talked about this first wedding again in her 2022 British Vogue essay, calling it more intimate and very special. Riley even admitted to shedding tears during the Nepal ceremony, something she didn't do later in California because she felt a bit nervous.

Riley Keough cherishes the memories of falling in love with Ben Smith-Petersen in Australia. In an essay for British Vogue in May 2022, she fondly described that period as "amazing," highlighting how everything feels extraordinary when you're falling in love. 

Keough and Smith-Petersen felt a strong connection to Australia while they were there for work and falling in love. Riley mentioned wanting to live in Australia one day, saying her time there with Ben was special. 

Their adventure in Australia started in Sydney, but Riley followed Smith-Petersen to Byron Bay, where his family lives. Even though she had plans to go to England to see her family, she stayed an extra week with Ben and had an amazing time.

During the memorial for Riley Keough's mom, Lisa Marie Presley, something surprising was revealed: Riley and Ben Smith-Petersen have a young daughter. This was shared when Smith-Petersen read a part of Keough's eulogy at the service, expressing her hopes for her daughter and thanking her mother for various qualities she inherited.  

Although the couple hasn't discussed their daughter publicly, a representative later confirmed to People that they do indeed have a daughter. There aren't any details available about how she came into their lives, whether through pregnancy, surrogacy, or adoption.

Ben Smith-Petersen has built a strong career as a stunt performer in major films like "The Suicide Squad," "The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies," "Triple Frontier," and "Mad Max: Fury Road." He not only met Riley Keough on the set of a film but also worked alongside her as the stunt coordinator for "Dixieland" in 2017, a movie she starred in.  

Aside from his stunt work, Smith-Petersen has ventured into acting. One of his noteworthy roles was in the independent horror movie "The Dead Thing," where he was cast as a co-lead.
