Waylon Tripp Parker’s father, William True Stevenson, has a unique story. He became a part of Kirstie Alley's family through adoption, a heartfelt decision made by the late actress and her then-husband, Parker Stevenson. 

This journey began in 1992 after Alley, who had experienced a miscarriage in 1990, chose to embrace motherhood through adoption. Alley's longing for a biological child remained, and she expressed, "I couldn't recover from losing the child. My body didn't either." 

However, Kirstie's commitment to parenthood led her to the adoption of William. Another special chapter unfolded in 1994 when they welcomed another cherished member, Lillie Price Stevenson, into their family through adoption once again, as reported by Today.

Kirstie Alley started in movies with "Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan" in 1982, where she played Saavik, a character loved by Star Trek fans. After that, she didn't continue as Saavik in the next movies. She appeared in various TV shows and smaller films like "Masquerade," "One More Chance," "Blind Date," and "Runaway."

Alley's big break came in 1987 when she joined the sitcom "Cheers," taking over Shelley Long's role. She stayed on the show for six years, gaining fame. In 1989, Kirstie starred in "Look Who's Talking," a successful movie that led to sequels. 

Kirstie won an Emmy Award in 1991 for her work on "Cheers" and won another Emmy in 1994 for the TV film "David's Mother." She got a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1995.

From 1997 to 2000, Alley starred in the sitcom "Veronica's Closet" and worked as an executive producer. She also represented Pier 1 Imports and later Jenny Craig.

Alley passed away on December 5, 2022, in Tampa, Florida, at 71 years old, after battling colon cancer.
