Brosnan's early career was defined by his work in theatre and television. His breakout role came in 1982 as the suave and sophisticated title character in the television series "Remington Steele."

The most defining role of Pierce's career came in 1995 when he was cast as James Bond in the 007 film series. He debuted as the iconic spy in "GoldenEye," revitalizing the franchise with a blend of charisma, sophistication, and physicality.

In 2000, they purchased a one-acre beachfront plot in Malibu for an undisclosed sum and later added an adjacent property, creating a full acre. Their total investment in land was about $7.4 million

They demolished the existing buildings to construct a 13,000 square-foot Tahitian-style mansion named "Orchid House," featuring 120 feet of ocean frontage on Malibu's Broad Beach. They've rented this estate for $250,000 per month during summer.  

A 2015 fire damaged part of the home, including a garage with valuable cars like the 2002 Aston Martin V12 Vanquish, featured in the 2002 Bond film "Die Another Day." The Woolsey Fire in November 2019 caused further damage. 

In September 2020, they listed the Malibu property for an astonishing $100 million. Additionally, in September 2019, they bought a $2.4 million home in Santa Monica, California.

Pierce Brosnan Charity Work And Activism

Pierce Brosnan, known for his environmental advocacy, was a spokesperson for Pacific Green in the late 1990s. Since 2001, he has served as an Ambassador for UNICEF Ireland and has worked alongside Liam Neeson to promote their AIDS campaign. A supporter of same-sex marriage, Brosnan also backed John Kerry in the 2004 presidential election.

Brosnan became aware of nuclear issues as a child in 1962 and later participated in Greenpeace campaigns against nuclear testing in the 1990s. He even skipped the French premiere of "GoldenEye" to protest France's nuclear tests.  

From 1997 to 2000, Pierce and his wife, Keely Shaye Smith, worked with environmental groups to prevent a salt factory in Laguna San Ignacio. They were also involved in stopping a proposed gas facility off the Malibu coast, which was eventually vetoed by Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger in 2007.  

In 2007, the couple donated $100,000 for a playground in Kauai, where they own a home. Brosnan also supports the Sea Shepherd Conservation Society and was named 'Best-dressed Environmentalist' in 2004.
