Dannielynn Birkhead, originally named Hanna Rose Marshall Stern, was born on September 7, 2006, in Nassau, The Bahamas. Her mom, Anna Nicole Smith, was an American model, actress, and TV personality who became famous as the 1993 Playmate of the Year. 

Birkhead had a half-brother named Daniel Wayne Smith. Daniel was Anna's son from her marriage to Billy Wayne Smith. 

Anna and Billy were married from 1985 to 1993 before they got divorced. Sadly, Daniel passed away on September 10, 2006, at the age of 20, just three days after Dannielynn was born.

Paternity Test Outcome 

When Dannielynn Birkhead was born, there was uncertainty about who her father was. Four men - attorney Howard K. Stern, photographer Larry Birkhead, Anna Nicole Smith’s bodyguard Alexander Denk, and businessman Frederic von Anhalt - all claimed to be her dad.

The situation got more intriguing when it was discovered that Anna had listed Howard K. Stern as the father on Dannielynn's birth certificate. Birkhead went to court to prove he was Dannielynn's father, citing their romantic involvement and dating from August 2005 to February 2006. 

The Broward County Circuit court in Florida ordered a DNA test, confirming that Larry was indeed Dannielynn’s father. Larry then changed his daughter’s name from Hanna Rose Marshall Stern to Dannielynn Hope Marshall Birkhead. 

Sadly, on February 8, 2007, Dannielynn’s mother, Anna, passed away from a drug overdose in Florida. At that time, Dannielynn was only five months old.
