Hilary Farr transitioned to Los Angeles to embark on a career as a film and television set designer, operating under the moniker Hilary Labow. During this period, she showcased her acting talents in several films, including "Layout for 5 Models" (1972), "Sex Farms" and "Never Mind the Quality, Feel the Width" (1973), "Legend of the Werewolf" and the iconic "Rocky Horror Picture Show" (1975), as well as "City on Fire" (1979) and "The Return" (1980)

Additionally, Farr graced the London stage in the production of "Grease" in 1973. Throughout the early 1980s, she made various television sitcom appearances, notably on "The Greatest American Hero" and "We Got It Made."  

Simultaneously, Hilary ventured into real estate, purchasing and renovating properties in Los Angeles before expanding her reach to include acquisitions in Australia, the United Kingdom, New York, and Toronto. Notably, she undertook renovations for high-profile clients such as Jenna Elfman and Jennifer Hudson.  

In 2008, Farr relocated to Toronto, marking a significant chapter in her life. She inked a deal with the W Network, Big Coat Productions, and Corus Entertainment to co-host the groundbreaking show "Love It or List It" alongside David Visentin, which aired on HGTV and W Network. 

The show, which also gained traction in international markets like Spain, revolves around homeowners contemplating selling their properties. Hilary oversees the renovation process to enhance functionality and aesthetics, while Visentin presents alternative properties for purchase. 

The homeowners ultimately face the decision to either keep their revamped homes or pursue a new abode.  

Farr's influence extended beyond television as she served as a judge on the W Network's "Search for the Next W Expert 2010" and made guest appearances at the Canadian International Design Show from 2011 to 2014.

When Farr was young, her family moved to London. There, she went to the Royal Ballet School until she was 11 and dreamed of becoming a ballerina. Hilary also became interested in acting. She learned about decorating by helping her mom spruce up their house.
