The initial encounter between Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann took place at the Dancing Stars of Atlanta charity event in May 2010, as depicted in a season 3 episode of The Real Housewives of Atlanta. Kim was there to support her RHOA co-star, Shereé Whitfield, who was a participant in the event alongside Kroy.

Impressed by the performance of the former Atlanta Falcons tight end, Kim approached him. Following a quick exchange, Kroy joined Kim at her table and offered his phone number, saying, "Hi. Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann gave birth to their first child 

On May 31, 2011, Kim and Kroy celebrated the arrival of their first child together, a son named Kroy "KJ" Jagger Jr. Kim shared the joyful news on Twitter the night of his birth.

Although KJ was the first child of the couple, Kim was already a mother to two daughters, Brielle and Ariana, from a previous relationship. The former Atlanta Falcons player, Kroy, also expressed his happiness on Twitter, thanking everyone for their well wishes and noting that both KJ and Mom were doing well. His tweet included gratitude to God for the positive outcome.

Their Engagement and Wedding

Just a few months after the birth of their first child in May, Kim officially confirmed her engagement to Kroy in October. Expressing her joy, she announced on social media, saying, “I am happy to announce that YES @biermann71 and I are engaged! I’m on a cloud and so blessed!!”

On August 15, 2012, Kim and Kroy welcomed their second child together, a son named Kash Kade. The reality star shared the joyous news of his arrival on Twitter, saying, “@biermann71 and I are sooo excited to tell you baby Kash Kade arrived today!!! Baby and I are doing great!!!! #soblessed.”

Kim's daughter, Brielle, who was 15 years old at the time, also joined in the excitement, tweeting, “BABY KASH KADE IS FINALLY HERE! :)”

Kroy Biermann Legally Adopted Kim Zolciak's daughters, Brielle and Ariana

Shortly after their wedding, Kroy filed for the adoption of Kim's two daughters, Brielle and Ariana. The legal process was finalized in July 2013, and as a result, both girls changed their last names.

Kim and Kroy  Biermann celebrated the arrival of twins, Kaia Rose and Kane Ren, born on November 14, 2013. Kim shared the exciting news on Instagram and later revealed the unique and meaningful names of the twins on the same platform. According to Kim's Instagram post, the name Kaia Rose was chosen in honor of 'Psychic' Rose, who is like a grandmother to Kim and has been a significant part of her life for over 13 years. 

Additionally, the twins were born on Rose's birthday, adding to the special connection. The boy, they named Kane Ren, with Ren being a tribute to Kim's OBGYN who had delivered five of her six children and had been an important figure in her life for 12 years.

Kim Zolciak and Kroy Biermann Divorce 

Kim publicly acknowledged her separation from Kroy on June 9 by changing her Instagram handle, officially dropping her married name. This move coincided with the anticipation among Real Housewives of Atlanta fans for Kim's return to the Bravo show, as teased in a trailer for season 15. Following the handle change, Kim shared photos of herself with fellow RHOA cast members.

However, in early July, less than two months after initially calling off their divorce, it was reported that Kroy refused to divorce Kim. Despite their previous reconciliation, Kroy sought to end their 12-year marriage again. In response, Kim contested the divorce, disputing Kroy's claim that their marriage was "irretrievably broken." In court documents, she pointed to their recent sexual encounters as evidence contradicting Kroy's initial assertions and subsequently filed a motion to dismiss her husband's divorce filing.
