On March 4, 1994, Hobor's husband Candy was found dead in Durango, Mexico, just after completing his new comedy western, Wagons East. The reason behind his death was a heart attack in his sleep because of his struggle of being overweight and was also a heavy smoker.

Horbor and Candy first gave birth to their daughter named Jennifer Candy on February 3, 1980, in Toronto, Canada. Jennifer is an actress and producer best known for her roles and works in MADtv, Camp Candy, Prom Queen, Cockpit.
