Margie Willett is a late wife or the first wife of the American Grammy award-winning actor, writer, singer, author, and dancer, Richard Wayne Van Dyke aka Dick Van Dyke.

She spent 36 years with her husband Dick & went to the same rehabilitation center during their addiction to drugs and alcohol. Unfortunately, she died at the age of 81 due to pancreatic cancer in 2008.

During the 1940s, Margie met her then-husband, Richard Wayne Van Dyke, and soon after they started dating each other. On 12th February 1948, the former couple tied the wedding knot at Chapman Park Hotel located on Wilshire Boulevard in Los Angeles, California. 

Their wedding was sponsored by a radio show, Bride and Groom, and then honeymooned at Mr. Hood Oregon Resort in Welches, Oregon.

Sadly, she lost twins due to a miscarriage but eventually, they welcomed four children: Carrie Beth (1961), Stacy, Barry Van Dyke (31st July 1951), and Christian. After 36 years of their marriage, they decided to part their ways by filing a divorce on 4th May 1984. The reason behind their divorce was revealed to be Dyke's extramarital affairs.

Richard Wayne Van Dyke (13th December 1925) is an American Grammy award-winning actor, writer, singer, author, and dancer.

He is best known for his works in TV Shows like CBS Cartoon Theatre (1956), The Dick Van Dyke Show (1961-66), The New Dick Van Dyke Show (1971-74), The Carol Burnett Show (1977), The Van Dyke Show (1988), and many more.

Richard's External Affairs:

While he was married to his wife, Willett, he was in a relationship with an American actress, Michelle Triola Marvin in 1976. The former lovebirds stayed together for 30 years until her death on 30th October 2009 due to lung cancer.

Cause of Death:

Both Margie and Wayne had a bad addiction to drugs and alcohol respectively. They were treated in the same rehabilitation center and returned as a healthy person. 

However, she got diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in 2007 caused by pancreas cell disorder in the DNA. She battled for almost a year and passed away in 2008 at the age of 81.
