Marge Cooney met Phil Donahue for the first time at Notre Dame. At that time, Marge was studying at Marquette University from there their relationship started by spending quality time. They graduated in 1957, then got engaged. 

On 1st February 1958, the couple exchanged the vows where they invited their close ones. The pair welcomed five children during their marriage. In 1973, they separated for 10 months and again reconciled. But, the duo spent 4 months together, which didn't work, and finally got divorced in 1975. The custody of four sons was given to Mr. Donahue and a daughter was given to Cooney.  

Mother of Five Children 

She is the mother of five children with her former spouse. Cooney gave birth to her first child, Michael Donahue in 1959. Then welcomed the second son, Kevin Donahue in 1960, her third son Daniel Donahue in 1961, and James "Jim" Donahue in 1963. In 1965, Marge welcomed only daughter Mary Rose Donahue. They also spend quality time and have maintained close bonding as they are living separately. 

Cause of Death

On 2nd February 2018, Marge Cooney left the world and died at Brandywine at Wall. Their death was kept away from the media and was only informed to her family and close relatives. 

Likewise, in April 2014, her youngest son, James passed away at the age of 51. His cause of death was an aortic aneurysm which is a balloon-like bulge in the aorta.
