Right after six months of her son's death, Evans broke her leg after falling from a horse when she was riding. The incident is described on Facebook where she said "when she went into surgery on one of her legs, they forget to numb the leg and cut into her leg while she was fully conscience with no numbing of the area". 

When  Judi was recovering from her leg treatment, she contracted COVID-19. The actress experienced "Mild" coronavirus symptoms like fever, body aches, and a cough. Today's date she has recovered and living a healthy life.
