Karla Homolka, a Canadian serial killer, acted as an accomplice to her husband Paul Bernardo in the rapes and murders of at least three minors in Ontario between 1990 and 1992. Despite her active participation in the crimes, she struck a controversial plea bargain with Ontario prosecutors that led to her conviction for manslaughter and a 12-year prison sentence.

Homolka's involvement included facilitating the drugging and sexual assault of her younger sister, Tammy, who tragically died as a result. Additionally, she and Bernardo kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and murdered Leslie Mahaffy and Kristen French, videotaping their brutal acts.

Tragically, Tammy also faced another incident in December 1990, where she was administered the animal drug halothane by Karla and Bernardo, leading to a sexual assault. Tammy passed away after choking on her vomit, though the incident was initially classified as an accidental death.

Apart from the murders of three young women, Karla and Bernardo also kidnapped and sexually abused another young girl referred to as "Jane Doe."As their relationship progressed, Karla became a victim of Bernardo's abusive behavior, leading to disagreements between the couple.
