Elizabeth Lai shares that she and Nieku Manshadi met in a classic way. They first saw each other at a party hosted by a mutual friend in Williamsburg, Virginia. Although they haven't disclosed the details of how their relationship started, reports say they first met in September 2015.  

In 2020, during the pandemic, the couple took a big step in their relationship. In August of that year,  Manshadi proposed to Lail in Montauk, New York, using her grandmother's ring. 

Nieku Manshadi Tied The Knot in 2021

Nieku Manshadi and his partner, Elizabeth Lail, got married in April 2021 at Hasbrouck House in Stone Ridge, New York. Interestingly, this place held special meaning as it was where they celebrated their first anniversary together. 

The house, which used to be an 18th-century mansion in Stone Ridge, hosted their wedding with about 22 guests due to COVID-19, and all attendees were vaccinated.  

Lail mentioned that if it weren't for the pandemic, they could have invited around 200 people. There were moments when they even considered postponing their wedding because of the challenges in 2020.

However, they made the best of the situation and ended up being the only wedding party on the property. This created a sense of peace for them, like being in their "own little bubble." For their special day, Nieku Manshadi and Elizabeth Lail opted for a weekend ceremony away from the city. Lail shared that returning to a place from their story and sharing it with loved ones felt just right. Nieku and his wife didn't have a strong vision for their union, so they went with what "felt right and true to us."  

Lail later revealed in an interview that the aftermath of the wedding felt like an entirely intuitive experience. As they went with the flow, more creative ideas emerged during their planning process.  

Regarding attire, Nieku’s bride connected with UK-based designer Andrea Hawkes through Zoom, and she adorned jewelry from Tiffany and Co., a gift from Nieku’s mother. On the other hand, Manshadi chose a dark navy suit from Freedmans Sporting Club, pairing it with a bow tie and Oxford dress shoes.
