Erin Siena Jobs' father Steve Jobs was a visionary entrepreneur who played a significant role in the rise of personal computers. He co-founded Apple Inc. in 1976 alongside Steve Wozniak, turning the company into a global leader in telecommunications. 

Steve dropped out of Reed College and worked at Atari as a video game designer before traveling to India to explore Buddhism. Jobs and Wozniak developed the Apple I, a computer board they assembled in Jobs' family garage. They sold Jobs' Volkswagen minibus and Wozniak's programmable calculator to fund the project. 

Jobs recognized early on that personal computers could have mass appeal. With his encouragement, Wozniak designed an improved model called the Apple II, featuring a keyboard and an attractive plastic case. The Apple II became incredibly successful, symbolizing the personal computer revolution.
