Emily Ratajkowski: Model, Actress, Author, and Feminist Advocate

Emily O'Hara Ratajkowski was born on 7th June, 1991, in Westminster, London, England, to American parents Kathleen Anne Balgley, a university professor, and John David Ratajkowski, an artist. She lived in Encinitas, a town located in the north of San Diego, California, for much of her childhood. Emily is of mixed ancestry with British, German, Polish, Irish, and Jewish ethnicity and grew up spending summers as a kid in Ireland and Spain. 

She tried acting, ballet, and soccer before focusing on modeling and performed local theater productions as a child. Emily went to UCLA for Fine Arts for a short time but quit after her first year to work full time as a model. Her artistic upbringing and exposure to photography and art by her father made her comfortable with nude modeling and feminist tendencies later in life. 

Modeling Career 

Emily began her modeling career at the age of 14 when she was signed by Ford Models. She began early by doing teen catalog photo shoots for Kohl's and Nordstrom. She preceded it with roles in We Are Your Friends (2015) alongside Zac Efron and Entourage film (2015). Emily will also make an appearance in Amy Schumer's comedy I Feel Pretty and Lena Dunham's Netflix series Too Much, taking her to television and film.
