John Self professionally known as DJ Self is a DJ, music producer, and reality star who is also known as 'The Prince Of New York'. He is a radio disk jockey who works at a show on iHeartRadio's Power 105.1 FM and in Shade 45 station.

Daughter - Kayla Gamboa

Self is the father of one daughter which he names Kayla Gamboa. She was born on March 24, 2000, and was first seen on the reality show Love and Hip Hop.  Kayla's mother's name is rumored to be Regina Gamboa however the details of her have not been public yet.

Fight With Nicki Minaj

In 2018, Self was in a fight with Nicki Minaj when she appeared in Self's Power 105.1 show to promote her latest album. In the show, the Self commented that Minaj has the best album than any other female rapper. But soon after the segment from the show Minaj posted a ferocious tweet about Self. 

Later, Minaj cleared that Self was talking nonsense about Cardi hoping Minaj will make love to him, but it seems the plan was backfired towards him. Nicki then warned self and threaten Self that she will expose him by telling everyone about the negative remarks he has given to other female rappers.
