The lovebirds first met while DeMeco was playing for the Houston Texans. They got married in Pearland, Texas, on June 29, 2013.  

Since then, the couple has been together through DeMeco's amazing football journey, from being an NFL player to now coaching. Ryans prefers to keep his personal life private, and Jamila also values her privacy, so there's not much information available about them online.

Jamila Ryans' partner DeMeco Ryans went to the University of Alabama, playing as an outside linebacker from 2002 to 2005. He began on special teams and as a backup, but worked hard and became the SEC's Defensive Player of the Year in 2005.

Ryans praised his coach Joe Kines for his success. He was named the defensive MVP in the 2006 Cotton Bowl Classic and received the Lott Trophy for his performance on and off the field. In the NFL Draft of 2006, DeMeco was chosen by the Texans as the 33rd pick. Although he played as an outside linebacker in college, he impressed during preseason and earned the starting position as a middle linebacker. 

DeMeco's first game showcased his skills with 12 solo tackles against the Philadelphia Eagles. Ryans had a fantastic start as a rookie, leading his team in tackles. He won the AFC Defensive Player of the Week award during his Week 13 game against the Oakland Raiders. 

Ryans was named the AP NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year and made it to the NFL All-Rookie Team after finishing second in the league with 155 total tackles. In 2007, he was an All-Pro linebacker and went to the Pro Bowl twice in 2007 and 2009. 

In 2010, DeMeco signed a six-year contract extension with the Texans worth $48 million. Later in 2012, he was traded to the Philadelphia Eagles. Despite the team's challenges in 2012 with a 4-12 record, Ryans stood out with 113 tackles, a sack, and an interception.

Ryans' performance improved in 2013, leading the team in tackles with 127, along with career highs in sacks, interceptions, and interception return yardage. He played his first playoff game with the Eagles in 2014, recording 10 tackles and his first playoff interception, but unfortunately, they lost to the New Orleans Saints.  

Later in 2014, DeMeco was placed on injured reserve after tearing his Achilles tendon. He was released by the Eagles in 2016.
