Dana Tyler is an American journalist who was born on November 24, 1958, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. She has been working for WCBS TV News for more than 30 years. 

Now, she is a news anchor and reporter on "Eyes on New York" at CBS News and appears at 6 pm half-hour community affairs program along with her co-host Norah O'Donnell.

Tyler was raised in Worthington, Ohio, Columbus. Her father, Waldo H. Tyler was a pharmacist and her great grandfather was Ralph Waldo Tyler, a society editor, and reporter.

The news anchor attended Worthington High School and was a member of a local girl scout troop. Later, she graduated from Boston University with a major in journalism. She also received the Alumni Award for Distinguished Service from Boston University. Dana was awarded an honorary Doctor of Letters degree from St. John's University as well.

Again she became a co-anchor of the evening newscasts in 1986. Before joining WCBS in July 1990 she also worked at WCOL Radio.

She started her job as a weekend anchor and reporter in WCBS TV News and three years later she started doing the 5 pm & 11 pm newscast. Dana has worked with many famous news anchors throughout her life. Some of them are Jim Jensen, John Johnson, Roz Abrams, Michele Marsh, and also Stephen Clark, Don Dahler &Chris Wragge. In 2014, she received The New York Association of Black Journalists Lifetime Achievement Award for her work.

Tragic Relationship.

The news reporter has a very unfortunate relationship with the American singer & songwriter, Phil Collins. They first met during the Broadway musical Tarzan press celebration. Phil and Dana started dating secretly but only confirmed their relationship after four years. Phi was already a married man but had divorced his wife before a year of his relationship with Dana.

The couple were in a romantic relationship and were very happy during their 8 years long relation. They never decided to get married to each other when they dated. But in 2016, Phil decided to break off the relationship in order to get back with his ex-wife.

This tragic decision of Phil had left Dana with a serious heartbreak. The news reporter took three months off from her work in order to recover from this unfortunate situation. Now, Dana is single and has no intention of being in a relationship.
