Country singer Chris Young charged with assault at Nashville bar
Chris Young was taken into custody and is facing charges of disorderly conduct, assaulting an officer, and resisting arrest after a reported altercation at the DawgHouse Saloon in Nashville on Monday night.
As per information gathered from an arrest affidavit by PEOPLE, the country music star allegedly followed Alcoholic Beverage Commission agents from Tin Roof bar to the DawgHouse. It is stated that he struck an agent on the shoulder, which resulted in him being physically detained by two officials.
Agents from the Alcoholic Beverage Commission arrived at Tin Roof at approximately 8:30 p.m. for a compliance check and found Chris Young, aged 38, seated at the bar. After confirming his identification, the officers collaborated with the bar staff to inspect the establishment's ABC cards.
During this process, Young engaged in conversation with the agents and started filming the encounter.
Following the departure of the agents from Tin Roof to verify ABC cards at DawgHouse, as stated in the affidavit, Chris and several friends trailed the officials to the next bar and engaged in conversation with its staff.

Upon the agents attempting to leave the premises, Young reportedly physically confronted one of them, "striking" him on the shoulder.
Unaware of Chris' identity, the agent pushed him away, prompting another bar patron to intervene, as stated in the affidavit. The singer of "Drinkin' Me Lonely" then allegedly escalated the situation by yelling and screaming, disregarding the instructions given by an agent.
Following this, two officials, according to the affidavit, physically restrained Young in handcuffs. Some of the musician's friends reportedly became hostile and followed the agents as they exited the bar. The documents indicate that Young's speech was "slurred," and his "eyes were bloodshot and watery.
After being apprehended, Chris was taken into custody and subsequently released on bonds of $250 for the disorderly conduct charge, $1,000 for the resisting arrest charge, and $1,250 for the assault charge. His court appearance is scheduled for February 16.
Despite PEOPLE's request for comment, a representative for Young did not respond.
The former Nashville Star contestant is presently preparing for the release of his upcoming album, "Young Love & Saturday Nights," scheduled to debut on March 22.
