In 2014, Corey Harrison shared with Good Morning America that he opted for weight loss surgery three years earlier upon discovering he was pre-diabetic. Feeling concerned after a doctor's visit, he noticed a place offering lap band surgeries on his way home, and a tight budget, he decided to go for it, using four credit cards to cover the cost. 

After getting the lap band, Corey shed almost 200 pounds, bringing his weight down from around 400 pounds. Reflecting on the change, he admitted he didn't realize how bad he felt at his larger size until after losing the weight. 

Corey mentioned on GMA that he started paying more attention to his diet and exercise routine. With the lap band restricting his stomach to only four to five ounces of food, he became mindful of what he ate, opting for healthier choices.
