Maurice attended Eleanor Roosevelt High School, Greenbelt, Maryland where he landed the title of Washington Post All-Met Basketball Player of the Year.

Similarly, West also played for Saint Joseph's University where he averaged 18.9 points and 6.7 assists per game.

In 2008, Delonte Maurice West was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Back in 2020, his photos and videos were circulated all over the internet. He was spotted in the streets of Houston wearing a hospital gown and barefoot. 

The player looked homeless and his face got bruises. Moreover, he was arrested by the police a lot of times for his illegal activities.
