Tamara is American and was born under the Capricorn zodiac sign. She comes from a mixed background with Norwegian roots, as both her parents were from Norway.

Regarding her education, Hurwitz studied dance at the University of Massachusetts, Amherst. While there, she not only focused on dance but also participated in theater performances.

Throughout her career, Hurwitz has performed with various dance groups, including the Jose Limon Dance Company in New York, the Pacific Dance Ensemble in Oregon, and Rosanna Gamson Worldwide in Los Angeles. A significant project in her career was "Passing," a dance piece with music that explores the theme of life and the afterlife, inspired by her parents. 

This project, developed with Tracy Penfield, took nearly five years to complete and premiered on April 28, 2018, at the Chandler Center of Arts in Randolph.  

Besides performing, Tamara is also involved in teaching dance. She has conducted dance classes in different settings, from dance conservatories to community centers like YMCAs. Additionally, Hurwitz has worked as a choreographer, including on a project titled "The Challenging," directed by her husband, Bill Pullman. 

In addition to her dance career, Hurwitz has ventured into acting. During her university days, she was involved in theater. Later on, she combined her dance expertise with acting, taking on roles in documentaries such as "The Fruit Hunters" and "Parables of War," where she appeared alongside her husband. 

Tamara's acting journey began in the 1980s when she performed in the play "Molière Impromptu," which was directed by her university mentor, Ed Golden.

It was during a production of "Molière Impromptu," directed by Professor Golden, that Hurwitz and Pullman first connected. In this play, they portrayed a married couple, which interestingly foreshadowed their future together. 

This experience sparked their relationship, and after dating for seven years, they decided to take their commitment to the next level by getting married. The couple has since enjoyed a happy marriage.

Maesa, her eldest child, was born in 1988. She has pursued a career in music as a singer and songwriter, known for her album "Whippoorwill." Besides her music career, Maesa has also been involved in film projects like "Indigo Valley" (2020), "Terror on the Prairie" (2022), and "Operator" (2016).
